This is excellent. It’s been awhile since I read an Allen Eakins novel and I regret not jumping in sooner. He’s like a mix of Steven King’s non-horror and a little bit of John Hart or Chris Whitaker. Really great storytelling!

Started this on the last day of the trip, but it’s very good. I read a bit more on the flight yesterday and then again early today since my sleep schedule is all thrown off with the time change. I am liking Karl a lot…

This is really interesting. It’s not a FAST read, but after scrolling social media, it definitely helps to regain lost brain cells. Plus it has great vocabulary!

I didn’t realize that 90% of this book is set in prison. It’s eye opening for sure.

Another good morning for reading. Every teenager should read this book. If this doesn’t steer you away from EVER wanting to serve time, I don’t know what will. It’s like that show Scared Straight in literary form.

Man, I am NOT OKAY. This book is gut wrenching. But it is also a beautiful glimpse into the grief and shock and anger that comes with causing a horrible accident. I always think about the victims… but I rarely think what it’s like for the people who create those victims.

Omg this is heartbreaking….. I can’t even imagine this kind of accident.

Another hour with a book before church this morning. Rainy Sunday mornings are the best for a book set on Nantucket. *smile* And no one does it better than Hilderbrand. But lord, these women are AWFUL.

Yesterday was a hard-core reading day for me. Lol. Between the storms and power outages, there wasn’t much else to do (oh darn). So far this isn’t my FAVE Hilderbrand novel, but it’s getting better as it goes. Right now it’s too much background on each person.

My phone use is admittedly stupid. So here goes. I bought this and it’s CRAZY accurate. Get off your phone and check it out.

I really love Civil, Lou, Ty, Mace, Patricia…. Such a wonderful group of people. I’m eager to see how it all plays out.

Damn! The plot thickens!

I feel like this could move a LITTLE more quickly, but the story itself is very good. It reminds me of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, but this is honestly much better written than that. I hated that book.

Just started this today, but I’m enjoying it thus far. It reads like a Toni Morrison, so I’m pretty hooked. Damn church services ruining my reading time on a Sunday. Harumph.

Someone said that this is Where the Crawdads Sing, but on the West Coast, and so far, that’s a pretty accurate description. It’s beautifully written and tells a sad story, but I’m totally invested, that’s for sure.

Can’t go wrong with Coben…. Esp for the first book of summer!

Sat on the patio with coffee and the dog this morning and read for more than an hour. It’s my favorite part of summer and this book is the perfect way to kick it off. Perfect setting, a little romance, and a hot farmer. Lol

This is SO FREAKIN GOOD. I swear, I’ll read anything by Ariel Lawhon. Amazing stuff — and the fact that it is mostly TRUE is the impressive part.

Guys: this is seriously SO GOOD. Nancy is a bada$$ and her husband is a hopeless romantic. What a story!
