The romance I can see developing here is giving me serious Lightlark vibes, which gives me the heebie jeebies. Also, Atlas is my ball python's name so every time Lor calls the king by his name I think snake.

Ugh. What did I get myself into? I knew this series was controversial but I gave it a try because it was free on Audible. The narration is amazing and I'm enjoying the story so far...but I smell a love triangle. Since I'm not in the mood to be disappointed, I did some digging...and I am NOT here for another Tamlin. I may have to put this on hold until after the final book comes out and I know how everything ends.

I am so enjoying snarky Nick. And for all that I'm solidly #teamsel I don't hate his and Bree's interactions right now. I just, you know, don't really want them to be endgame. Especially since I'm seriously shipping Nick and Ava right now too.

I smell a double standard here and it reeks. Norah made Mikhail annul his other three marriages so that he would only be married to her and yet she apparently thinks nothing of nurturing her love for another man and putting her hands on him whenever possible.

I read book one forever ago. It was fine but I got distracted by something else and finally decided to come back and at least read book two if not finish the entire trilogy.

Kitty Doe is a truly terrible person. She's selfish, impulsive, and simply not a likeable protagonist.
