Chapter 15 starting with a conversation about *NSYNC echoing all my teenage thoughts is just screaming for a five star rating.

Did I know this was over 500 pages when I started!?!

Seeing that this was written in 2016 is the only reason I’ll give for continuing my read. All the slut shaming mixed with “I’m not like other girls” by our leading lady is a real drag.

“I’ve been bored and unhappy for years, and I never understood why, until I forced myself to ask the question. I realized, living like tomorrow won’t come doesn’t challenge me. Living that way means nothing matters, nothing has weight or permanence.”

I’ve noticed a couple too many times that I don’t like how this writer describes her female leads. Today it’s having the hero describe her physically just to finish by saying “no one would call her pretty”. Yuck.

Been stuck on this same page for a week. I’m not really feeling our leads and I think I’m done with New Adult as a genre.
I’ll eventually finish this book but I’m gonna put it to the side for awhile.
