Holy Hell, literature ie Dante's Inferno without a reliable safe guide through horror after horror. As a person who has read my fair share of medieval literature this book stands out. I still remember the characters, the scenes nearly exactly as the writer wrote them. It's lyrical, poetic, and will keep you wondering about like the characters for weeks after.
Not for the faint of heart.

The author right away reveals herself to be a brilliant guide between epistemes in German thinking. So far I keep wondering if what she delineates will align with Foucaultian intellectual analysis of how knowledge and discourse work or if she finds another path.

I started this book last night, made myself go to bed on time then woke and began savoring this book again. Finally! Exactly what I’ve been looking for in a book: intelligent satire of pop culture, feminism, great literature, the way literature inspires some of us to live our love lives and the bizarre world we all live in celebrating the absurdity of it all.

Ok I got a copy of the sold out book and am looking forward to the weekend when I can really hunker down. So far, I’m just getting a gist of Dr Loeb’s voice. I’ve been following him and this controversy since 2017.

I’ve made it to the end of chapter five and discussed with s science book club on Zoom. This is such an exciting science book! Not only does Ed Yong look at the various research going on with regards to microbes, he interviews the researchers as well.

just finished Sam George’s introduction as well as Chapter One. She sets the stage well, with all the players: philosophers, scientists, the clergy, poets, fashionistas, high society, the rich, the poor, the middle class bourgeoisie, capitalists, socialists, playwrights and featuring everyone’s scandalous opinions on sex, gender and Mary Wollstonecraft giving them a well deserved punch. I want to read all night!
