This is a total riff on 50 Shades. Right? I feel like it is, but I only made it to 22% of 'Shades.' But I think I'm right. Regardless, I like this. After two completely intense YAs, this is a nice palette-cleanser :)

I had to. I'm still HIGH from finishing The Goldfinch. I can't read anyone else right now. Whatever :)

The characters are such fun, but I'm getting a wee bit tired of all the relationship-triangle-drama. Still enjoying the book, however.

Cripes, so SO many fucking typos :( Blarg. Not liking it as much as I did Wicked, but it's not bad. I like the formal, olde-timey style of it, though I'll admit to having to re-read a sentence here and there. Typos give me bad feelings, though.

I'm just...not enjoying this. Which is weirding me out because I love all of Barker's other books. Maybe it's been too long, I don't know, but I'm not getting any artistry. I seem to remember Imajica being so beautifully written, and now I don't know for sure. This is just very straight forward, language-wise, and honestly? A little clunky, at times. I feel like I'll get flack for this, but that's the truth.

Like every Tartt I've read to date, this is so beautifully written it kind of hurts my heart and my head. Wow do I love her.

Had to start the series over because I felt lost when I started the third book. So...yeah.

I'm all, "crap, who was that? Damn, what happened to her again?" so I'm stopping and starting the series over from the beginning. It's how I roll.

Keeee-RIPES, I'm exhausted. Most excellent book, putting me through the ringer and them some. Whew!

My GAWD this is good!

This is very well done. Todd's voice is excellent, very consistent and completely in line with a 13 year old boy. The story is intriguing and the world is amazingly detailed.

Oh and I LOVE Manchee. All the animals are great, but he's definitely the best.

I'm trying, I really am, there were so many run-on sentences sentence fragments; and are independent clauses connected by commas and, misuse of commas, semicolons it's, annoying me a lot, and general grammar goofs I didn't know if I can continue it.

Ugh. I'm a bitch...and I'm not that sorry.

It's harrowing, catching up with Robbie. Visceral, terrifying, even hopeful. GAH, it's so fucking good. I'm so scared for him I can hardly stand it.

Finally got back into this! It's really beautifully written and there's a tangible sense of foreboding. Eez good.
