When you think you're starting a series fresh, but there was another series in the same universe and the author keeps referencing characters that have no bearing on the story ... 🙄

This book is fun. Not exactly a fake dating trope as they usually don't agree to sex right away or sleeping in the same bed right away. But still fun

On several occasions the author screws up the timelines.

The gala was in 2 days, then suddenly it was the same day. The dinner in France was in 3 days. Then it had been "3 days since the pool" but it was really only one day, and then the dinner was still the following day. The timeline is really a struggle.

Is this book RH? Is this a rip off of ACOTAR and Fourth Wing? Who is the MMC?

I haven't read this author before. There's a lot of mistakes, like knowing people's names because they're introduced and just typos in general.

So if read the synopsis, you know that the shifter loses his magic, takes it from her sister, and then she has to go to the Trials. This is all in the summary of the book. Yet none of these things happen until 150 pages in.

Why am I 52% into the 4th book of this series and the plot has not progressed beyond that of the second book? This is starting to tick me off.

I have no idea what's going on in this book. It's really choppy.

I tried to finish this book, really. But I kept falling asleep. The premise is kind of dumb. Then I get to the part about the thunderstorm and tornado in January at altitude. I couldn't suspend my disbelief anymore.

Issues with timelines in this book. 7 months, then a few days, then a year in the prison. Several weeks at the school, but then each class is giving an introduction like it's the first day. Which one is it?

So it starts sweet. They play video games together, but don't know it. He needs a tutor but they have a bit of a history. They get together, he tells her that they play games together and it's kind of breakup. But now they're back together. There's still 55% left of this book so we'll see where it's going.

If she needs to hear the command to obey, why was the rune turning black before when they were so far apart?

Reminds me a lot of ACOTAR and Quicksilver.

What was in the jewelry box? Why did they need it? How did she end up with a prince and become a servant? The purpose of the Rite?

Axel and Wren are two years apart. In the prologue she was 15 and had gotten the horse one year prior. Then they jump to the future where they've graduated from college and they haven't seen each other in 2 years. Now it is 12 years prior, she has the horse, and he just started college. So in the present he's 30 and she's 28? Seems too old for her to be acting the way she does.

This book is like the most ADHD fueled frenzy I think I've ever read. In the first 10% I've probably said WTF am I reading at least a dozen times.

It's just insta-love. Almost too smutty. Needs some angst.

They're just so non chalant about her killing a dozen vampires. Why not just ask the vampires to leave? Then she spends weeks rebuilding the wards and like ok, just destroy them. No big deal. What the fuck

This book is way too long.

So the prologue is actually something that happens in the middle of the book...? Not confusing at all. 🙄

She's 23 years old and her brother treats her like she's 13. She acts more like she's 17, not a college graduate. Also, the word "smirk" appears in the book 58 times. Please get a new word.

Dani is a little too prickly. Being a bitch does not make you a strong female character.
