Giogioni is now out of the family catacombs with Cat and Olive (still polymorphed into a burro!) in tow. A magic sending from his recently deceased wizardly uncle sets him on a quest to retrieve the stolen Wyvern's Spur but where should they start looking?

This is turning out to be an excellent D&D novel much like its preceding volume, Azure Bonds. I didn't really like Giogioni from book 1 but with the focus shifted on to him in this book, he does not seem so bad after all. Olive is also with him though currently in burro form, as Giogioni delves deeper into the Wyvernspur family crypt in search of the thief who stole the Wyvern's Spur.

We immediately find out the reason for the title as we touch bases with a minor character from Book 1, everyone's favorite nobleman loser, Giogioni Wyvernspur. Apparently the Wyvernspur family has an actual wyvern's spur, protected by magic because it must never leave the family. And it has just been stolen.

Excellent writing from husband and wife team, Kate Novak & Keff Grub, that captures the feel of D&D.

Excited to start this, having just finished the first book of the Finder's Stone trilogy (Azure Bonds). Hoping to see more of Alias and Dragonbait!

Finally found a copy of this trilogy set in my favorite D&D setting of Mystara. Can't wait to read the entire trilogy!

The game stats keep me from getting bored.

Just starting this because I am hyped for the upcoming release of the latest Battletech videogame adaptation. It's being developed by the folks who did Shadowrun Returns before and is turn-based which makes it more faithful to the boardgame.

So we join Geralt apparently 4 years after the events of the previous book. The book opens on a hunt for a green dragon. Instead of Dandelion, there's a new more annoying bard called Jaspier.

I just finished Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Vol. 1 and gave it 4 stars.

Because I went to sleep late yesterday (fun time barbecuing it up with the rest of the SuiteCloud team), I'll be curling up in bed early with this! Woohoo!

Look what arrived today!

Volume 2 collects Deadpool #-1 and the rest of the DP regular run starting from issue #2 til #08, and finally capping it off with the Deadpool/Daredevil 1997 annual. I'm about 3 books in, and so far, Joe Kelly nailing DP as well as hanging plotline threads that he better resolve before the end of this series!

Speaking as a fan of Wolverine, this would be a fun read if only for the death of Wolverine is an annoying hirsute piece of... midget whose got his pecker in everything he's a crack whore pulling a train on gangbang night.

Finally reading Deadpool because I played the game, and it was the only awesomely superheroic experience I've had recently (that's counting the Arrow tv series as well as Marvel's various recent movies. Everything should have fourth-wall and immersion breaking protagonists.

I've stalled a bit with this book, but I'll have to rectify that in the coming days. Both Gentleman Bastards are now back from their voyage of piracy for the first time to take their antidotes...

In the middle of White Wolf Game Studio's entry. No wonder the World of Darkness games' dice pool system is very similar to Shadowrun's; one of the former RPG's co-designers designed the latter! You do learn something new each day.

Finally cracked this open! The '90s will most likely feature more World of Darkness than I care about and then there's the struggle with CCGs. A dark time indeed for RPGs!

I loved Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow. Now it's time to see if the Japanese light novel it's based on lives up to the hype.

Good thing Matt Forbeck tweeted about the discount last GenCon weekend or this might have languished for a while in my to-read list. Woohoo. It's good to be back at GenCon, even if it's just through these novels :D
