I've stalled a bit with this book, but I'll have to rectify that in the coming days. Both Gentleman Bastards are now back from their voyage of piracy for the first time to take their antidotes...

There's an interesting take on sea travel/mariner lore that sets the Gentlemen Bastards' world apart from us: sea travel is believed to be doomed unless there are women (who also make better officers) and/or cats. The possibility that, somewhere in the seas of these novels, there's a crazy old cat lady captaining her own vessel fills me with glee.

Couldn't wait to see what happening with Locke Lamora and Jean Tannen after they left the city of Camorr for good at the end of Lies. I see they wasted no time getting themselves in trouble.
