This book is taking me forever to read. Not enjoying it as much as REAMDE.

So far, this book is fantastic (an amazing first novel by Daniel Suarez). As an IT professional, the tech written about in the book is about as realistic as you can get (usually a big gripe when I read or watch any show or book and there's some weird IT stuff). Can't speak to the FBI or police procedures, but they don't seem laughable. Only a couple minor nits not worth mentioning.

So far, pacing is a bit slow. Took longer than I expected to even describe the 3-body problem. Looks like some sci-fi elements are slowly making their way into the story finally...thought I may have misread the genre for this book.

Not as good as The Martian. Weir took a chance with his second book to write from the perspective of a young Saudi girl, named Jazz...I think he needed a little more seasoning as an author before trying to write a female protagonist. Secondly, I found the storyline to be a bit ridiculous and would have preferred a more realistic drama in the city of Artemis, the first city on the Moon.

Not quite as good as the Iron Druid series, it's a fair start to a new world. Can't say I was a fan of the storytelling technique in this one. And toward the final 1/4, I just couldn't wait until it was finished (not that it was bad, but it seemed to drag a bit at the end).
