This is so much fun to read (experience). Love Mara Jade, along with The Hand of Justice. Also throw Thrawn in the picture, with Han, Chewie and Princess Leia. Loving it so much.

It's interesting how they are filling the history from the different time periods (the present with TOS, then a middle time period and the one that is following Charlie Seven, Ms. Roberta Lincoln and Isis.

I'm so invested in this story...that I had to set the book down...so I could get some sleep, so I can finish it today.

Of course, I stopped...when things are at their worst. Ugh. What' going to happen, next?

Though I wasn't as onboard as I thought I was in Assignment: Eternity with Gary Seven and Ms. Roberta Lincoln, for some reason...it's working really well in this story.

I know Mara Jade is on the Imperial side, but I like her character.

Love how Leia is in charge, and doesn't suffer fools gladly.

Also, love the Stormtroopers who left their duty, to do their duty better.

Ooh, this is a juicy political thriller. Love the multiple POVs, and how the presidency of the Federation is up for grabs...after the quick retirement of President Zife, and two of his closest advisors.

Ah, Mara Jade...I've been looking forward to reading about you.

It's taking me a bit to get back into this storyline. Maybe just a few more chapters, and I'll be locked in.

Having fun with this adventure. Will be reading more of it...later this evening. I've got a big smile on my face...spending time in "a galaxy, far, far away."

I cannot stand that this series doesn't have chapters. It makes the reading experience worse. You stop mid-sentence, thought or scene. It is cumbersome to remember what happened, since there is NO framework for what you've just read. Ugh.

It's good to be with our heroes, Han and Chewie, again. The odds are stacked against them, but it always (well...let's be real, it real never works, until it has to) works for them...at the right time.

I didn't know where this story was going to go, and now that I'm in it...I've been pulled in...and having fun with this new setting and characters. 

This is such a fun read. There are high stakes, but ultimately Alex is in the middle of everything (even when he wants to stay neutral).

I love Fantasy and Crime novels, and this is the best of both worlds (genres). I love the main character. He knows his strengths and weaknesses, but in this particular moment, he's just throwing it out there. I respect him, but also feel bad for him...too. Loving the adventure.

I'm enjoying the adventure, but it reminds me of a Cory Doctorow novel...where he's to "plugged-in" to the modernism of spyware, that you feel protected. Very interesting feeling.

Well, this war is not what I expected it to be, but it is still very interesting.

I'm not enjoying this portion, at the moment, so that probably means I need to go to sleep...and finish this in the morning. Hopefully it picks up, again.

Still worried for his son, and what Joanne's son will/may do to him.

That character is TOTALLY unstable and not someone who should still be breathing IMO.

I'm invested in the characters, the tech and the story, but I have NO idea where this story is going (in a good way). I keep stopping, so to preserve the story, NOT because I'm not "in" the story. Oh, I'm in, but I worried for the character's safety.

I'm enjoying the "drama" of this story. Watching the characters do stupid things, and one doing wreckless/dangerous things. Ugh.

It's like one upping each other on a prank, but then the pranks keep going...till it becomes deadly. I truly despise that character.

This is an interesting story, so far. I've watched a few interviews with the author, and reading this story...seems a LOT like the way his mind works. It's a good start, that's for sure.

This is definitely a different take on this third film. So far, I'm intrigued by the differences...and why they didn't make THIS film adaptation. Why?

I don't know what it is? I've been in the mood for a dark, space opera, that is run by "the company", and treats their explorers and fixers...poorly (at best), negligent (at worst). They don't care about you, and just get used to it.

Hmmm? That sounds familiar in our current government in the US, right?

I'm gonna say it now...this book is rocking, right now (one quarter in).

Loving all the different storylines. The factions. The characters...and all their intimate struggles.

Also, there's something going on...and it's going to be bad for peace. We all know that's about to happen. Right?

Under the Hanging Wall - 4 Stars

I really enjoyed the intrigue of the investigation into a murder (coverup). The main character...under pressure, finds the truth. Foils a scheme to convict an innocent person. I was hoping against hope that it was true (the instincts of the investigator). Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

Sand Trap - 4.25 Stars

The unexpected patsy, isn't what they thought he'd be. I really had fun with this story...and I felt it has a very satisfying ending. I was worried...at the beginning, but by the end...I had a smile across my face. If I had been in his place, I would've been dead, or in jail for the crime.

One thing...about these characters. Though they are broken at times, they really have a "never die" attitude. Everything is trying to kill them (the known and unknown) and they do not give up. I'm not sure I could keep this up.

I don't know what it is, but for some reason I don't mind Horror aspects in Science Fiction stories, since space is trying to kill you at every turn, and I just accept that as the baseline. All the horror elements then just slot in. Otherwise, I hate Horror.

The Hand of Kuan-yin - 3 Stars

I don't know why, but I was discombobulated throughout this story. On another night, I might have been locked. Right story/wrong time.

A robbery gone wrong & an innocent person getting involved by happenstance. Also the police not letting go of solving the crime.

I think one of the things that threw me, was the setting. Don't know why. Others may love it, I just couldn't get into it.
