how dare good reads give me my end of year wrap up. don’t they know i have 2 books left to read and 5 days to reach me goal

i’m already sad

toni morrison’s voice is beautiful and dreamy. I put on this audiobook just to listen to her beautiful voice

i am really liking this

in my last update i said i didn’t like the narrator at all and apparently the author is the narrator this is so embarrassing

the prose is sometimes incredible and beautiful but other times the constant pauses and artsy commas drive me crazy and it feels like an extended rupi kaur poem. “he gave me first my first pizza bagel and what else was I supposed to do but follow him?”

this is how you lose the time war is a book that has beautiful prose and still moves the plot along in a meaningful way

the audiobook narrator is not my favorite

what a pleasant read

i enjoy ida’s memoir a lot… i do wonder where we are going

although this book has a lot of short stories in it, one of the most important parts is actually all the small forwards about each planet. this is marked separately so i can make sure i have read all cosmere related books, and im making sure to re-read some of these stories when applicable. i am mostly finished, just reading white sand which i read on my ipad not my kindle.

edoardo ballerini is likely my favorite audiobook narrator (other julia whelan). this book starts off with a similar vibe as the the dutch house or tom lake. every sentence seems deliberate and relaxed, yet i am interested and eager to hear more from these characters.

guys! it’s because she has fake boobs!!!!

the narrator mentions every woman’s boobs, if they are large or small, if they are fake or natural, if they are shapely or unfortunate. what does boob noticing tell me about the story

i like this book so far

interesting so far but it does feel like i am reading house of leaves with the level of details of the “book within a book”

i hate the main character so much bc she keeps complaining about being judged and not having friends, yet she is the most judgement, unfriendly person with an emotional eq of 0.
