Elaine is on page 512 of 626 of The Portable Dorothy Parker
Wondering if there's already a band called Nietzche and the Happiness Boys; if not, audition signups are on the music room door for tomorrow at lunch.

It is also extremely fucking funny how bad she hates A.A. Milne. It is so weird to see her attacking him for being a children's author. Wild to realize that somebody so foundational to the modern childhood was once a probably-annoying guy to run into at parties.

Man I am fighting for my life here. Is it even legal to write 95 straight pages of wholly unconnected ideas?

Elaine is reading Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language
Loved this SO much. Some parts of it felt like huge revelations, others felt obvious to me—but the author's genuine understanding of and appreciation for what the internet does for language and vice versa is what makes this book fantastic. I also really love that the book addresses link rot within its own references, which is rad.

Elaine is finished with Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil
Well, well worth the revisit after reading an excerpt in school years ago. Important for anyone concerned with the truth in the face of highly emotional propaganda from every direction.
