Needham compares the need of knowledge stating that it is that thing needed in death."If on my deathbed, I have a choice, I would rather have my mind filled with knowledge than suppressed with medicine.(197)" What he suggest that while medicine only eases pain in death, knowledge insures that you had died living purposeful life. A body without knowledge is just an elaborate instrument never played, but left to rust.

Needham believes that our society is defined by distinction between the values of man and not by us being connected as equals."We have created too many walls but not a lot of bridges.(167)"What he means is that our society is too divided between the powerful and the weak to even realize that we are just as powerful as each other. We must build bridges over our walls and uphold the fact that all men were created equal.

Needham believes that to solve questions it is more effective to look at yourself than to seek other people. "Genius are those that solve questions without looking beyond themselves.(104)" I believe that this means that if you look at other people, you will be hindered by their opinions since it is impossible to please anyone. A good solution comes from those people with the ability to look closer instead of further.

Needham tells us to abandon our senses because they would mislead us from true understanding. "If you were to judge an Asian man by his color, you might as well judge soil by its taste.(69)" If we eliminate soil despite its importance for its taste, we would perish. Likewise we must not use our senses to determine human value before we can come to know them. Prejudice exist to eliminate bonds before they even exist.

Needham tells us that this life we live is merely an illusion for a greater purpose. "I had seen the sovereignty of China when I walked those hills, I walked the walk of scientist dead and forgotten, but never lost.(27)" What he means is that these scientist are ordinary men, but even if they are forgotten, they are never lost, because the legacy they left us is not their lives, but instead what they did with it.

As humans Tesla showed us in a quote that science had made us masters of the natural world even before we can gain ownership of our own selves."Science has made us gods even before we are worthy of being men.(368)" When they say gods, they mean us exhibiting dominance over the natural world so fast that we as humans have to catch up with ourselves. This shows that science made us beyond what we can make of ourselves.

Tesla tells us that in order for society to improve we must help the poor and allow the poor to help us."In tomorrow's society, the rich gets richer and poor gets poorer. The poor gets more humble and the rich gets more arrogant.(427)" What Tesla means is that in the most ideal world we are all well off financially and in character. In order to achieve that we must merge two highly segregated groups into one society.

Tesla teaches us that we should not fear science because if we would understand our fear it wouldn't exist. “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.(294)" This means that fear is the accumulation of concepts we don't understand; we would be without fear if we understand what we are fearing through science. We have to fear fear itself.

Tesla states that the quality and the valuer of a man is determined by his failures instead of a success. "If you were to judge a man by his success, you are only judging what he envisions of himself if failure is not present.(257)" By this Tesla clearly states that success seduces minds into arrogance, when failure inspires effort and hard work. Those who never fail had never tried to aim to succeed in their lives.

Nikola Tesla believes if one were to be successful in what he does, he must devote everything into it. "I do not think you can name many great inventions that have been made by married men.(196)" What Tesla means by this is that married men lack total dedication because of other priorities. Therefore as Tesla states, the greatest male inventors are those not married solely because they are more devoted inventors.

Nikola Tesla believes the strong opposites; failure and virtues are two words for the same thing. “Our virtues and our failings are inseparable, like force and matter. When they separate, man is no more. (146)” He states that if you want to be successful, you have to be prepared to be able to fail many times. If one were to never fail, then your virtues characterizes you no more than the failures achieved by others.

Tesla deeply believes that a scientist's ability to think clearly is more essential to a scientist's ability to think deeply. "The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.(116)" As you can see if one were to think deeply but without clarity, it is much better to think simply, but vividly visualize what you are thinking of.

Einstein believes that all men are created equal but at the same time not always equal due to their specific characteristics."I have never met the society's better men who dines upon vast riches but does so in the dark.(778)" What Einstein means by this is that no one is born with incredible gifts but exhibits them in the dark, therefore a man who is gifted but very lazy is never in any case defined as a better man.

Thomas Edison believes that genius is a combination of a small idea and perspiration. "I first thought that running electricity through a filament would enhance the light, but it wasn't until I ran it through 200 substances until my vision was fulfilled." What he meant by this was he took a simple idea of containing fire in a bulb, ran tireless experiments with it, and then achieved something beyond his expectations.

Those who kill solely for victory and glory are only as good as the prey they pounce on. "A Mogadorian held me up by the throat and raised his sword. I felt no fear, I felt no regrets, but I felt pity. (74)" He felt pity for the Mogadorians because he feels that when the Lorics are killed, they will turn on each other in pursuit for power over the resource. This book shows power will turn a man against his own will.

We should not follow the wind and life as is not purely living, but it is believing in a strong purpose.

Einstein believes that the genius in many people is not born, but rather made. "Genius is the result of hard work a inquisitive mind. If one is inquisitive, one will strive to learn, therefore rising from the crowd and becoming a genius in society.

Einstein expresses mankind as an arrogant race. "I have never met a race so arrogant that they can only view the faces of others, but not their own.(687)" As Einstein speaks of mankind, he states that we only judge other people oblivious of our own personal qualities. Humans tend to look at other faces before we look at our own face. Humans according to Einstein, should judge ourselves before we start judging others.

Einstein doesn't believe genius is standing on the shoulders of a giant." The higher I climbed, the more I see, but now lay a horizon before me without the slightest detail.(597)" Einstein as seen in the quote is most fascinated by the world in detail as opposed to landscape. He states that it's better to look at a object in detail than to look at large masses which blurs the very same details that it is composed of.

If you abandon it, it will die of old age.(414)" From this it symbolizes that Einstein believes that the cutting of grass represents a obstacle, and if one were to have no obstacle in his life, then his existence will have no meaning nor purpose.

It is clear that instead of believing in a universe built upon probability, Einstein believes that nature operate under very specific laws. "God does not play dice. (327)" In these 5 words Einstein changes the course of physics and sets aside his own saying that with a system, God does not function as a probability. Probability according to Einstein is humanity's attempt to explain anything they do not understand.
