A slow burn. The flat affect / delivery is the right approach in my opinion. Kind of reinforces the numbness (is that the right word?) that seems to follow each significant loss of memory. I can't decide if this book is a commentary on Alzheimer's, authoritarianism, or both 😂. Really hoping for this book to be... wait for it... unforgettable, but so far it's just pretty good.

I actually kind of like drug narratives usually, but this is grating on my nerves early on. Hopefully there's more to it than just a rich pretty girl that's depressed and doing drugs, chronicling her experience with quack medical practitioners.
