Is it just me or are GR book records taking forever to load this week?

I wondered why extra prompts appeared when I posted my review of the upcoming The Lost Daughter of Sparta by Felicia Day.

Can’t determined rating bombers just lie at the prompts though? Will this really help?

And why toss in off-topic reviews to boot?

Appease the authors I guess.

In last few weeks my reviews on middle school books got more comments from new users who are tweens. I realized today that they are also Australian. These kids are using Kindles to access Goodreads as a way to skirt the social media ban for users under 16 there.

They do a lot of brainrot and can get mad easily since they can only see the first line of any comment or reply, and only the first 30 comments on a review.

Half a sentence into the Prologue I was pretty sure I wasn't going to like this. Seventy pages in, and that hunch is pretty much a certainty.

Is this being discussed somewhere? And doesn't the first edict make the second one moot?

Has anyone else noticed this glitch while using the website version of Goodreads?

On a review page, click the box next to "Notify me when people comment." Check appears. Come back to review later or refresh immediately and check has disappeared.

The reverse is also happening, when the check is active, it cannot be unchecked. Sure, it disappears when you click the box, but it reappears after refresh.

This is not "A Graphic Memoir." Instead it is a collection of random text-set diary entries with a sketch or tangentially related cartoon reprint every other page or so. No sequential art, less than half the pages are even illustrated. The text is heavy on self-pity. I should dnf, but I'll probably slog on.

Rough stuff for a kids book

According to my old book database, I read 4,547 books to my daughter while she was growing up. That investment paid off today as I got to read the manuscript of her first children's novel. I hope to see it published and listed here on Goodreads one day so I can give it a five-star rating.
