Reading a suspense thriller mystery is always so tiring, being in constant battle with the author over every word or phrase as potential clue. Is the answer so obvious? Are these red herrings? Is this only the first level of something more complex? How can this be drawn out for another 200 pages?

This isn't bad, but it also reminds me of why I don't read many books like this.
