Rachel is starting Journey to the Center of the Earth
“I began to enjoy the exhilarating delight of traveling. A life of desire, gratification, and liberty.”
Very boring. The kids only liked the last twenty minutes of the book. This is our third Jules Verne. We did love the narrator, Frederick Davidson, and all the extra descriptive language.

Rachel is starting Make Your Own Money
The kids (age 7 & 10) and I absolutely loved this book. It’s fun, it reads easy, it lays out every step for kids to set a business plan. While we read it together the kids and I came up with our own business plan to sell homemade dog treats at our local farmer’s market. Now I have to buy the book and follow through with our plan! Excited to get started!

Had to skip some stories because the kids were listening, but we all lol’d till we were rofl! Listening to the audiobook is a must because Trevor is the ultimate story teller. 10/5

Rachel
Rachel is starting The Indomitable Florence Finch: The Untold Story of a War Widow Turned Resistance Fighter and Savior of American POWs
The book is mostly about her friend Carl and general details about the progress of the war. But it finishes up with Florence’s History and accomplishments. She’s a remarkable woman.

Rachel is starting Fahrenheit 451
Interesting idea, but how can it be meaningful without the women? Where are the women authors, the women academics, the women with the photographic memories, the grandmothers? Only men. Clarrise is buried and forgotten by the end. Mildred and her friends are victims, not influential. This book is nothing. It erased all the women. How is that any different from burning books?
