Tanna is 50% done with Grant
Finished civil war battles and was fascinated by personalities, the inertia of several of the general and the strategy of the battles. Grant comes out an excellent general and man. Grant was excellent keeping Lincoln's ideas to unit the union standing up to Pres Johnson. Staring on the presidency.

Tanna is reading Montaro Caine
I was leary of this but brought it home from the library on a whim.
It was a fun read - not for reading aloud with Gorn but just good story and reasonably well written. No challenging vocabulary which I like when I'm reading an eBook but as this was real paper, I wouldn't have liked.
The conclusion was a bit of a let down but I don't think it was the book or the writing it's I'm a science fiction fan not fantasy.

Tanna is reading The Wrath of Angels (Charlie Parker, #11)
Reading this one aloud. Really fine writing, liberally sprinkled with passages that thrill, make you stop, appreciate words. Grand suspense, some times goes off in tangents but hasn't lost us yet.

Started reading aloud to Gorn in mid-November. Both of us are able to understand many of the concepts as he presents them in everyday terms. Fascinating read.

The chapter on salads redefines salad! Have to try the two first tomato salads, a cinnamon roasted beet(p75) and the eggplant zealous(p93) - all I need now after the foods is mouths to feed and time to cook!

Ike was amazing leading but not a battle field planner. Montgomery would probably have gotten a sooner end to the war.

Reading aloud Fascinating look back. Really enjoying seeing how many historical figures played roles in this life. Finding Eisenhower so much more interesting than I understood at the time.

slowly making my way in this one - only possible because it's an e-book. enjoy some of the really unusual recipes. Rabbit always reminds me of my uncle's stories about killing rabbits for the family when they had no meat. He somehow managed to kill them with a broomstick to bring them down. Then there are some interesting recipes that look very simple and look wonderful.

We totally enjoyed this one! Makes it so much easier to feel good about saying: I like this, it's good wine. It cost less than $10.
