This character has no friends in this village? No one to go with her on this poorly designed adventure to the capital, to reign in her wild flights of fancy?

Her dad died and after 2 seconds of a grief montage, we’re in revenge mode right away? This is a different culture at least linger a bit on the death rites? She’s the second oldest of six siblings but they don’t warrant a mention by name? Her village is described in two lines, but we’re already on to the capital and the revenge plot? You’ve put zero effort into making me care about these characters or this world.

The excellence!!! It was a surprise how the sequel switched from the rollicking adventure of the first to dealing with how the newly turned adults move in this society. There’s also quite a bit of political intrigue and practicalities of love.

Finally got into my arc!

There isn’t as much world building as I’d like, and it’s more of a shaggy outline than anything else, but there is a lovely paranormal romance story here ripe for development.

Colt’s been writing for years now, so for her to still be only at this point in her craft is annoying though.

Not really a fan of arrogant boys, whether or not they’re serious about it, and I already think that for me, the author will have to thread lightly with any romance she’s trying to develop between these two.

I do wonder at her attending this university, for this particular major when she doesn’t appear to know anything about anything paranormal.
