Shay's upbringing is hitting so close to home that even though I'm not very far into the story I'm feeling myself getting emotional. I had to stop to type this so I wouldn't spring a leak.

I stopped to note that I dislike manufactured enemies to lovers' scenarios, and this is one since the enemies' portion is started, according to the blurb he's treated her like crap to hide his feelings (to sum it up). Are we dealing with a man or a child? So, this is going to start off with a deduction, so it better be damn good to come out on a positive note.

Interesting, but too many povs. I need an appendix or something to keep track of everyone.

Now Jack needs to stand-up to someone. Or just tell them where to stick it. His mother.

I know it's early, but if Delilah doesn't hurry up and develop a backbone, I'm going to have to DNF this for now. I'm not in the mood to read about an FMC who lets people run all over them. My patience is on its last leg.
Her boss and even Jackson. Jackson hasn't said anything out loud to her at this point, but his thoughts are leading that way.

up to part 3: This takes us back to before part 1, which is probably why I was confused in part 1. Even knowing what I know now, it doesn't excuse the SA that took place before. Sorry, not sorry. Still, I was glad to get that background and to know the whys of Helena memory lapse.

Up to Part 2: Be aware of TWs. A lot of people love this book and as of right now I just don't see it. I'm waiting to see the romance element. Right now, all I see is pain for Helena. She's a prisoner of war, but still, it's too much. I keep reading is to see what's locked in Helena's head. The trauma is overshadowing everything else. Also, I had to stop to search for a character guide. Confusion was/is me.

Emma ridiculous. This premise may have worked better if she wasn't a therapist. I can't imagine wanting to have someone giving me advice on love who thinks this is a good idea.

Even taking her profession out of the equation doesn't make it much better. I get where the author was going. She told us herself by mentioning The Bachelor.

Then she went and confiscated the "At Gun Point" bit for "Friends."

If Susan is not up to something, I'll bite my tongue.

I'm glad I originally started this series years ago, out of order because I had a chance to like the characters already, instead of me wanting to strangle a teenage Lucy. Even though I somewhat agree with her assessment of men seeming to come first and that Mark wasn't good enough for Kay.

Looking back at their past, I feel like he conditioned her to accept his unhinge behavior. Or should I say she was manipulated? This is at their first outing as a couple & you'll see what I mean about manipulate or conditioned. This was test 2 of if I can make her my woman.

We're at the point in the past, when Lucas invites Mila to set after their first date and she walks in on an uncomfortable scene.

Knowing that he's filming a movie when he meets her and also that he had her come during this scene, felt calculating on his part.

1. Was he being himself when he met her or in character? 2. Was having her come to set this day a test?

There's a lot of back and forth between the present and different parts of the past. I was a bit confused at time about which part was the present. It may be because I kept having to start and stop. Was it during the funeral, when they got the script or after she made the decision about their relationship. I believe I've figured it out at this point.

Started on audio but got to a part where I wanted to make notes or at least see the line, so I downloaded it on kindle. Glad I did. I guess I wasn't completely paying attention because I didn't realize the Prologue was Mila's POV. I assumed, due to the part after, that we were getting a glimpse into Blake and his wife's life. Now, it leaves me to think that whatever happens Mila will try to get away from it or him.

He's a bit past the point where he stopped acting like a douche. At this point it's -1 star. Now I feel like she should have told him some of the truth about her husband when she knew she was thinking of getting involved with Austin. <spoiler>Of course she does, but only after her hand is forced. </spoiler>

This started good from Cecily's POV. I wanted to reach in the pages and hug her, but I was definitely cheering her own when she acted on her decision. Then we got Austin's POV and it went down a notch. I'm tired of the MMCs judging the FMCs off of nothing. In this case he doesn't know what's going on, but acts left with her off of preconceived notions because she's from the city. What an ass!!!!

I actually started this 10/24/25. I actually didn't read what this was about before I picked it up at the library, so imagine my surprise when I started realizing what was going on.

It's going to be long ride, but I'm here for it.

Okay, Kennedy got me over here in tears basically from the beginning. I already see this is going to be an emotional roller-coaster in a very good way.

How did she gasp and say, "Yes, more please." with his d*ck in her mouth? Inquiring minds want to know.

What is Samantha's dad doing when he's sneaking away in the middle of the night? And why in the hell did Xavier take that call from his toxic as hell mother?

So far before we got to the office with the it was just wash & repeat of Logan showing his willingness to sleep with anything with a pulse and aggressively hitting on Tate and Tate being in denial about his attraction to Logan.

Hopefully, this means things are about to change and it will be more story than just sex.

Well, I was right about Howard & Lina's relationship, and at least we got the full story. I think I would have liked this more if it had involved her reading the entire journal before visiting the places her mother went and deciding at that point if she wanted to meet the douche, Mateo.

Overall, I really like Howard more than anyone else. Not many men would do what he was doing. Even if he did it awkwardly.

I was thinking this before when someone pointed out the differences between Lina and Howard, but after that overheard prematurely ended conversation between Howard & his friends, plus him saying her mother didn't tell her something (well her mother didn't really tell her anything), makes me think that maybe Howard isn't her father. Maybe he's related to her father, or they were all friends.

I guess we'll see.

Okay, so Howard didn't know about Lina, but instead of giving an explanation the excuse was our relationship was complicated. That is a cop out. At this point, I think Lina deserves to know the story to understand why her mother didn't tell Howard about her. The -1 star is still on the table if we don't get the full story by the end of the book.

There is a journal that belonged to Hadley, so we'll see.

Why wouldn't her mother tell her that Howard was her father? Especially knowing she was dying. And if Howard was such a great guy, why hadn't she told her about him in all these years? Why couldn't she just stay with her grandmother and meet her father first?
If the full story of why he wasn't involved isn't in this story that will be -1 star.

I always forget until I read another book that there was always at least one other man who wanted the heroine's affections. In Gwen's case she had Hawk, Tack, and Mitch.

I can't recall if any of the other ladies had more than 2 sniffing around. I guess Gwen's special (or my memory is bad).

Thoroughly enjoyed and I don't know if this is the response the author expected, but I had tears in my eyes at the end.

I stopped reading for a bit to finish another book, but I'm picking back up tonight. I completely forgot what a hoot Gwen can be.

Disrespectful teenagers get on my nerves. If this keeps up, I'll have to skip their conversations. My mother wasn't the best, but I didn't go out of my way to speak with her with a disrespectful tone.

Women mind your business. First it was Suzanne to Tamara telling her Elec's a playboy and feeding into her insecurities. Then its Tamara to Immogen about Ty, saying he dates bimbos.
I understood the first because they don't know anything about him, but Tamara knows Ty. Why didn't she say he's a good guy, but I don't think he's ready to settle down. So be careful if you decide to go there.
