Am I the only one who feels like there was some grooming going on. I think that Mary Carsan was a spiteful old biddy, but she read Father Ralph to a tee. He was just a greedy man who set his sights on this young girl. I think Mary did Meggie a favor, even though I know it doesn't stick from reading the blurb. This is not a romance. there is nothing romantic about this at the moment. I feel like that won't change.
