Bored. 😔

Strong start. I’m surprised at how many great books I have already read this year. I think I’ve improved my ability to discern which themes and topics actually suit my taste instead of blindly reading the latest and shiniest novels, and expecting to love it like everyone else. Ngl I do miss being a hater.

This is so good but at the same time it makes me so impatient that I’m halfway through and still have 500 pages to go

Realizing a little late that this is probably not great for someone like me who’s prone to depression 🫡

Jeez, I was not prepared for exactly how bleak and horrifying this is. I’m already nauseous.

This is so repetitive and boring. I have hope that books 4 and 5 will be better but part of me wants to dnf this.

This is fun. My pet passed away on saturday and this is exactly the right type of story to escape into.

Idk I feel I have read too many dystopias as a teenager to enjoy this… I just can’t seem to care for the genre anymore 😐

Some of these chapters are such a hit and others are so incredibly academic, vague and hard to follow

A flying car, magical chess and a fireplace through which people can travel. Well well well. Makes you wonder whether a certain British children’s author took inspiration from this.

It’s reminding me a lottt of The Rachel Incident (which I didn’t really care for)

I’m not trying to be a hater but the ultra short chapters (there are 88 chapters in a book that’s not even 300 pages long) remind me of the tiktokification of literature and reading

Still not finding this gripping at all. 😐 I know it will really pick up shortly but so far this has been pretty disappointing.

I don’t remember the sequel being so incredibly slow. 😐 It’s a lot infodumping and Paige trying to make up her mind. I get why it’s necessary but feel it could’ve been handled a lot better.

I can’t think of a book I’ve read that was more intense and unsettling… I’ve got an ache in my stomach and chest, but at the same time it’s very hard to put this away.

I can't believe it's been 12 years since I first read The Bone Season. I loved it and thought the sequel was even better, but somehow bought but never started the third one. I do want to know where the story goes and since I can only remember vibes and no characters or plot lines, I guess I'll just start at the beginning again! Bit scared I won't love it as much this time around though ....

I bought this book when it came out in like 2019 and for some reason never picked it up until now but it is so insanely good ?!?

The writing style is a little bit too much “dear diary” style for me

lol this fight with the family is sooo triggering and relatable

The author must’ve been heavily inspired by the Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies, right? I mean, right? (I’m not complaining though)

Ok the second part of this book is losing me
