I can't believe it's been 12 years since I first read The Bone Season. I loved it and thought the sequel was even better, but somehow bought but never started the third one. I do want to know where the story goes and since I can only remember vibes and no characters or plot lines, I guess I'll just start at the beginning again! Bit scared I won't love it as much this time around though ....

I started this series last year and love it! Are you reading the revised edition of the first book that was published for its 10th anniversary? It's the one I've read and I've been curious about the differences from the original version.

Hey Catherine, good to speak to you again :) Yes, I’m reading the revised edition. I am also very curious about the changes - there was a ‘warning’ at the beginning of the book that jumping straight to the unrevised sequel might cause some confusion, so that suggests more was changed than just a badly placed comma here and there. I doubt I’ll be able to tell since I read the book 12 years ago and also in another language. 😅 Maybe someone on here or Reddit has made a post about it?
Oh, I had not thought about this! I looked it up and yes, readers of both did answer on Reddit. The major changes concern the first book. There's also a revision guide on Samantha's website.
Ah, I just read Samantha's explanation. Very interesting, and totally understandable - I have to write tons for work and fully get how time and (mental) energy constraints affect your ability to execute an idea with clarity.
