Second book in a row that I have looked up a reference to something that sounds real and turns out to be fictional. In this case the artist Andre Milhaud and his macabre art exhibit on death.

This book sparked my attention from the foreword...and then held it at the prologue. A clever opening

The results of the chimp experiment did not make sense to me as a person who has studied altruism. In reality the baby would be put on top on the mom. I googled to see if there was such an experiment having studied psychology for 26 years I was not surprised to find that no such experiment existed. It was fiction. Interesting to read people's outrage at a fictional experiment in a fictional work being fictional.

Once this book grabbed me, it grabbed me. It is an interesting and complex look at love and sex through the eyes of a women. The story weaves different kinds of love and sex where she is both victim in some instances and perpetrator in others. It is an engaging read.

So when I first started this book it did not engage me But I decided to read through some of the Sparknotes chapter and theme summaries. After that the book suddenly became interesting...and relevant to the times we live in. If you consider the idea that the book's protagonist is a hero by avoiding war, rather than engaging in heroic acts...it is becomes an interesting statement about war and sanity

So I decided to start documenting what % of a book I need to read before I start caring about wanting to keep reading the book. This book took 11% before that happened.

Reading this for a second time It is as good as the first

This book has been engaging thus far. It is easily a book I could read in a sitting as I don't want to put it donw

This book is captivating and intelligent. Lots of references to quantum physics, Schrodingers's cat, etc. Interesting.

I really enjoyed this book
It is different and reminds me of both Life of Pi and The Little Prince combined

This book is intense. The plot covers incest, murder, slavery etc. I have found ti pretty brutal to read so far and am not sure if it will get nay better.
