DNF @ 70% - unpopular option ...Forth Wing was 1000 times better. This book just drug on and on and was so ridiculous I seriously could not talk myself into finishing.

Google has this to say about overusing endearments and I couldn't agree more - "It's important to be aware that when using terms of endearment too liberally, the “sweet” or “cute” aspect of it can quickly turn to “silly.” "

I’m 20% in and so over the use of “Ma Petite” aka "little one". It’s been used 40+ times. I just looked and it’s used 271 times in this book. Every sentence does not need it added. Ugh. Not sure I’ll finish. It's just annoying when an author overuses any endearment. When it's used in every other sentence it's no longer a endearment.

If she says “his circumcised penis” one more time I’m DNF this book. I’m not sure what country or era the author is living in but 90% of the men in America have that, it is not needed to be described as circumcised 10+ times. I’ve seriously read 500+ romance novels and this is the only one ever describe a penis as circumcised…. And she doesn’t multiple times 😤😤😤

Her name is Sunshine. And it’s absolutely annoying how often it is said just in the first 15% of the book. We get it. She has a ridiculous name, you don’t need it in every paragraph. Trying not to DNF just based on her name. 🤦🏽‍♀️

DNF at 10%. The grammar is horrible. An author can absolutely get the message of who a character is to the reader without the misuse of words or using the wrong tense of a word and just seriously poor grammar. Trying too hard to make the character seem tough or rough around the edges just fell flat.
