The male narrator is great, love the husky voice!
However, this is just very typical romantasy in its execution, which sucks because the world-building is very interesting.

I don’t understand why the FMC doesn’t just say what she needs to say like “hey, I was mad as hell about the kidnapping (besides de obvious) because my mom was having an episode and I needed to get back to her”. That would make things so much easier for everyone. Maybe she will now that they’re in a better place?

I can’t with the narrator’s overly dramatic whiny performance. Like her voice is amazing but god, it makes the FMC even more annoying.
