Was enjoying this well enough until I learned more about the author and now I have to put it down.

This is quite a tangled web. One hell of a puzzle. And the best part is... I don't know the answer.

My heart is shattering. Because this is as much me as it is Simon. Shouldn't be possible. But. Power of story.

If Netflix doesn't turn this into a show I will be both shocked and disappointed. I love how this reads like an original work but also has all the hallmarks of fanfic (makes sense given the origin). I ship it.

Charming characters. But then, it's Julia Quinn.

I just need to take a minute to appreciate that Tessa Dare is quite clearly a fan of Outlander, and awesomely nerdy enough to include some obvious homage mentions to show it. ❤️

Love the narration, and the theme is fantastic.

I stopped listening to this July 6, 2021. I just... ugh. Can't. Take. More. I tried! But... nope.

Feyre is one of the most passive protagonists I've ever read. She was passive in the first book, too. She just lets things happen to her and waits for opportunity to fall in her lap. Even Stephenie Meyer knew better than to detail all the boring bits that come with depression and did a keen "three months later" thing in New Moon. COME ON. BELLA WAS MORE PROACTIVE THAN FEYRE.

Gaaaaah. ALREADY. Already Feyre is annoying the crap out of me. She won't talk to her lover. Whom she's to marry. I see all these reviews calling Tamlin "controlling" and maybe it's for something still to come, but all I see is a guy who doesn't know he doesn't know his girlfriend because she won't freaking talk to him. Of COURSE Rhysand knows her better and treats her accordingly. He has a PSYCHIC-LIKE BOND. Duh.

This isn't exactly gripping, considering I know the story. But it IS amusing. In so many different ways. Pretty sure this is Stephenie Meyer trolling her own fandom just a teensy bitty bit.

This is amazing. I am actually enchanted, I think.

I am not getting to listen to this as often as I'd like to. It's amazing, but the time lapses in between my own listening periods are preventing me from getting fully immersed. Which, to be honest, sucks. A lot.

It's been exceptionally slow up until now, and the romance hasn't exactly sizzled. But I'm in "Part 2" now, so I'll give it a little more time to give me something worthwhile.

Still waiting for the story to start. So far it's just following these people around as they run. They're well developed characters, but that isn't enough to carry everything unless something HAPPENS.

Well this is amazing.

I like the cultural aspects, and I like the narrator's voice and the authenticity he brings. BUT... I'm still waiting for a story to happen. There's nothing driving this forward.

Made it this far, but then the library loan ended. Now I have to wait for it to come around to available again. Sigh. This sucker may end up DNF.

I've been paused at about 50% for a week or two now, as my eyes are denying me reading. Hopefully only until I can get into an optometrist.

I don't think I've ever read a better description of how luck works. It's kind of depressing for me, a bad luck gal, but it makes so much sense. Sigh.

Things have improved a lot, mostly because of Sam. Annie is still annoying.
