Petition for Carrion to be named the best side character in all romantasy.

Anyone else notice how much this is like The Bonds that Tie series by J Bree? To the extent where I’d be complaining about theft. It’s a decent enough story but honestly I feel bad for even reading it when it’s pretty much the same story.

I’m in a reread phase and have been obsessing over the idea of rereading Malice etc. So I started it yesterday and it’s been so long I barely remember anything. Now I’m in a weird, but brilliant, position of reading a book that I know is a favourite but which also seems new and surprising. I love it.

Wow, so this is really boring. There’s precisely zero character so far and nothing has happened till now.

Not sure I have the mental and emotional capacity to deal with this but here we go…

I love Ferox but this book is a damn struggle.

Someone I don’t even know on TikTok said that the only book she’d read this year better than Fourth Wing was this one. Let’s see, shall we?

This feels like a 5 star read already… the first book in ages I don’t want to put down now it’s bedtime.

Struggling to concentrate on new things as the moment so a reread it is!

I’m over a third of the way through this book and nothing much has happened yet. There’s w hole load of talking and not much doing… not sure this is going to match the hype.

Because this said #City of Victory 1, I thought it was a new series, but happily this is still the wonderful Flavius Ferox. I would have missed his cheery self.
