I read this book by a British author who really knows trees and was fascinated by his expertise in all things trees and by his wide travels around the world. His writing is comprehensive to be understood but not overwhelming so I gained much knowledge about trees and their environs.

An enchanting story of friendship spanning years of differences in age between the author and her friend Edward who rescued her in the midst of unhappiness in life and marriage. He cooked for her and along with food , he dispensed a hearing ear and support for her. I wish that recipes woukd have been included.
