y’all i just started this but my gosh i’m already viscerally hating the narration and tone.

as beautifully written as this is, my only personal issue remains to be that as an absolute Greek myth nerd, i know way too much and besides some added details by the author, there’s been nothing memorable that has caught me off-guard [yet.]

so far we’ve paid way too much attention to Achilles’ feet.

another case of switching to audio, and i am disgusted.

i had to switch to audiobook because the second person POV narration wasn’t holding my attention for not even 5 minutes.

tbh, i’m so tired of all these treaties being broken in fantasy books. it’s been the most recycled plot point across the genre and it genuinely feels like such lazy storytelling.

some of these fantasy character names are getting out of hand…

i’ve tried—twice—to get into this, but the audiobook is not doing it for me and i find the story and setting just not that interesting.

sadly the first dnf of 2026.

this book started exactly how i was willing to bet it would.

i’m sorry but seeing an interview style chapter in the middle of a fantasy book really, really brings me out of the immersion. i’m so triggered i might just dnf 💀

i’m getting the feeling that this book is a bit too long.

y’all i think i’m understanding what this book is about.

it’s a mockery of psychotherapy professionals.

because you’re telling me TWO therapists failed at identifying her issue but then this guy tells her his experience with a common resolution and suddenly everything falls into place for her?

i knew what this book was about. but i didn’t know what this book was about.

without the context that comes afterwards, chapter 2 does NOT start well.
