i hate cam, like the grocer, perplexed by the drama of the knit wits, and waiting and waiting for chapter that include marcellus.

not loving the repeated use of “ I want to fix you” and speaking about being broken. I know what they say, but choice of words is poor. The author/characters mean to help get through the tough times but fix is giving me the ick.

There is nuanced deepness within thjs book. Lines that surprise me or make me go “wow, that was tied in, or done really well”. I feel shitty saying it surprises me, but this really is more than smut…even if there is a lot, of good, steamy chapters.

I think this book is exactly what it’s meant to be. Enjoying the humor, exploration of inner thoughts, and figuring out mixed with denial.

genuinely feeling bad for Ky regarding his inner thoughts

so many good innuendos so far, enjoying the humor and the banter. Starting to see little inserts, indicating unknown attraction.

okay, edit to last update: bro has got some problems. not sure i’m so annoyed with K anymore. He can be hard to read. “Sometimes she caught him staring at her like she was perfectly imperfect the way she was. Like he wouldn’t change a damn thing. But other days, he glared at her like she was his worst enemy and greatest regret.”

enjoying the change of environment and challenges faced. kinda getting a bit annoyed of Khalani’s feelings that Takeshi despises her despite his actions. boiling it down to “i’m not in that situation to know how it feels” just to get passed it. like come’on! look around! Also sorta wished we saw more from Winnie in book one because the depth of their relationship feels a bit fake at this point.

i’ve really been loving this author so far. I found this book on one of her Instagram posts. I’m so happy I started reading. I expect to be reading plenty more from her. I love the use of her vocabulary and hyperboles. It feels natural and not forced. I genuinely feel like I’m learning new words without feeling like they don’t fit. The dynamic between characters is intriguing and genuine to an extent.
