Very shortly after opening this book a fushigi (aka small synchronicity) happened. The book begins with a quotation from Whitman's Leaves of Grass . Last night, after spontaneously wanting to re-watch a crazy cancelled TV series called 'Wonderfalls', I opened one of my boxes of books I'd not opened since I packed it in Aug 2017, and found Leaves of Grass.

Wow! Such an important book. And, in a rather magical synchronicity, it complements the Jordon Peterson lecture I'm listening to, called "Maps of Knowledge". Each of them are complementing the ideas of the other's. I see myself reading it a second time more slowly.

Taleb's observations and writing are both excellent! His critique of 'reason' is particularly pertinent and very important. As mentioned, it is synchronistically and strongly connected to Jordan Peterson's lecture series "Maps of Knowledge", which also critiques what we think we know. And I smiled when he argued the importance of not reading the news because it is a major source of bafflement by the known.

This book is a yoga treasure! Beautiful and easy to read, with a nearly perfect amount of detail about physiology, anatomy, yoga and philosophy, history, anecdotes, energy in its myriad forms, breath and prana and chi. Totally awesome read. And I've begun to put to the yoga mat some of the yin yoga asanas and the effect is profound and energizing.

It has taken me a month to get to page 3, but after reading xxxiii very difficult pages in the extended introduction. I am unlikely to finish this. I will be writing a review before rating it and before finishing it, when I get a more than a few minutes of free writing time.
