I find myself smiling quite a bit. Charles's writing style is really beautiful and his stories, especially around his childhood / chess / baseball are entertaining. This isn't what I was expecting but I'm enjoying it so far.

This is starting out a little slow for me because I really have no idea where this is going and I have zero connection to this little girl. I'm also finding that demons are stubborn and hold grudges for a long time. Come on Stefan! Get over yourself and at least talk to Muse so you can hear her side of it. I hate it when people say 'there's nothing you can say'...screw that! You have no idea what I might say. Listen.
