still feeling curious about the central dynamic and how it will develop
Okay but Ryan and Wyatt’s friendship is adorable

Strong start for this one. I like Ryan Price a lot and am intrigued by the set up here,, feeling less interested in hockey,, the exploration of someone being into androgyny and fem people after a certain type of gay man has been coming out in the hockey scene,, curious to see how these two continue to reconnect

Miller and Havelock dynamic pulled me in as a way to further understand the dynamics of this world. Okay so there’s an Outer Planet Alliace that seems sketchy and inner planet dwellers (Mars and Earth) has a lot of bias and racism attitudes towards it, and the Starforce police thing is financially indebted toward helping OPA even when it’s a bit sketch?? Now they’re wondering why they gotta kidnap and (cont)

Wish the Rose Landry of it all w Shane was a little more fleshed out here. But still into Shane’s inferiority being described here.

Really enjoying the tension of both of these characters failing to resist each other and seeing both of them internalizing.

Ilya testing out vulnerability I love the guy!

Reid’s writing style sometimes works better than other times still!

Reflecting on my chapter 8 notes,, and this might be my fav chapter so far. Their dynamic developing here is sooo interesting and endearing!

Their dynamic in these sex scenes I am soooo into this book right now!!!!! Hearing Shane’s internalized homophobia journey is so important too.

The cute silly romance is still effective Some of these sex scenes I love And sometimes I’m a little surprised at the sweetness, see them having a sweet moment while Scott is sitting on Kip

Still have some clunky sections trying to imbue more tension and character driven material Starting to wonder if this would have been more effective if it was all light fluff haha

Net positive thus far!

Rachel Reid does have a way of getting dirty and still imbueing a sweet playfulness to it.

I definitely find the Kip characterization consistently more effective and charming than I do the Scott characterization.

I’m settling more into this silly cute and a bit empty tone!

Rachel Reid shouldn’t be allowed to use parentheses these are crazy!!!!!!!

The playful style of writing and Kip’s characterization are my high points in my first chunk, along with the wonderful first sex scene.

Biggest negative is Scott’s characterization and the sympathetic part of their relationship toward each other. It’s not effective and for the most part it feels silly derogatory when it comes up.

Oh my gosh I feel like the excitement has not slowed down in a minuuttee. The lore of how each character knows something is wrong when the Made explicitly hear it and Ariel picks up by the wind and shadow movement?! Yeah I like that

The post battle tension and resolving I just like it

I dig the way the characters processing war as part of their lives is consistently in here
