The current day main character, supposedly an adult, acts just as stupid as the teenagers in the past. I am determined to finish, but I can't say I am enjoying it.

Florida history, Seminole history, bromeliads (poaching, propagation, care, history, sales), orchids (poaching, propagation, care, history, sales), art smuggling, swamps.... What doesn't this book cover?

This book is not holding my interest. The storyline is one I would typically enjoy. I think I'm struggling with the writing. There is way too much "telling" in this story. A LOT of background that most readers likely already know. A LOT of saying what the character is feeling when feelings are already implied in the action.

The 7 Cs: competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping, control; Ginsburg offers insight into how and why to develop these in children and youth. The book is not difficult to read, however it is taking longer than I expected. I keep pausing to consider every few sentences!

I've really just begun but highly recommend this book to woman who has lost her mother. From the introduction on I have found myself agreeing with something on nearly every page.
