I have only read the Introduction, but I love this book so much already. Whenever she says 'Indian women', I feel cognitive dissonance because I am an 'Indian woman' too, but of the East Indian kind.
I think I have much to learn from this book. Excited!

O'Doone ends up killing himself when he finds out. I don't think someone murdered him, it didn't seem like Andy was going to die either, or his pregnant wife. It seems that the puppet masters know that they know, and they don't care.

Such a riveting story!

I am reading NRACP.

This story sounds so like 1984, but the protagonist seems even more oblivious to the danger he is in. There is a sexy woman that he likes, and he has a friend, *O*'Doone. I think Andy needs to watch out for O'Doone, but he isn't.

"This means that food is always in the here an now; it is everywhere and nowhere. Yet every time people eat the pliant flesh of salmon they are tasting evolution, natural history and deep time. Indeed, salmon's evolutionary, natural and life histories turned what might have otherwise been a common fish into one of the handful of most important sources of marine-derived fats and proteins the world has ever known."

Now I think Nick's insensitive description of his wife reminds me of The 1st part of The Vegetarian by Han Kong

After a long time, I am reading a book that is tearing me apart. AFP's voice is raw, so honest. I don't listen to a lot of music, but after reading the book I have started listening to Amanda's songs. The song 'Runs in the Family' from Who killed Amanda Palmer touched something so vulnerable and hurt inside me. Shocking as her songs or her writing are, there is a real need for art like Amanda's.
