ohhhhh this book is CAPTIVATING! i can’t stop thinking about it

Very much enjoying this — feels aligned with recent read Starving Saints

i like this book better than Bride 🫣

i’ve read this first 1/3 pretty quickly — i’m intrigued but don’t feel Downright Hooked

okay and let me be brave and say: i don’t love the cursing, esp around Ana. like hey Misery chill

mentions of tv shows and Raspberry Pi aside, this book is sooooo good

this is one of the most beautiful & REAL descriptions of love that i have ever read: “It should be noted that I do not define my manhood through my love of women. … Yes, I could love a man ifI ever tound one who accepts me as 1 am, and Ive dreamed of being so lucky-but I love women too. I love women as men are expected to, but the way only one who has ever experienced womanhood can.” AJW gets it.

ohhhhhh i’m so HOOKED

listening to this audiobook on spotify is saurrrrrr unserious …. and yet! this is actually a well written book & the plot is well paced

i am well into the second half now and onto the second POV. i really like the writing — and the audiobook is also well done (i’ve been reading both hardcover from the library + listening to audio)

reading the past few chapters has made me feel so joyful and full of collective nostalgia. i am really connecting with this book, and feel a lot of parallels between the experiences of Imbler in New York and myself in my own city. i love salps. also mention of Diablo Canyon? okay SLO county!

what beautiful writing!!!! i’m diving through these stories — Imbler does such an incredible job bringing sea creatures to life while reflecting on life’s own experiences. i love the parallels. as a queer person myself, with a background in biology, i feel like this book was written for me 🐙🦑🪼🐋🐠🐟🐡🪱🦀

the YEARNING…. woof. it does feel like true sapphic love, that’s for sure. the letters are so cute. i’m curious to see what happens w/ martin & susannah. hmmmm
