Brutal, uncomfortable, I never want it to end

hmm this is magical realism… will stick with it a bit longer and see if I can get into it

I’m having trouble locking in on this one… waiting for it to spark a real interest for me…

I have been enjoying this trilogy but it’s probably not great that I’m this near the end and still haven’t felt the least bit of “caring what will happen next” in a fundamental way. It’s just all about the characters for me, which is fine but a bit frustrating!

Have switched to audio which is good except Joseph is incomprehensible without being able to read the words (still pretty incomprehensible even when I do). I’m just assuming he’s saying some version of “you’re a sinner & going to hell” every time he speaks.

These are very good stories

hmmmm still boring… characters info dumping exposition and world building to each other in dialogue…

Enjoying this a lot more than I did last time, but I do remember one issue I had with it was the enormous amount of extremely long sentences

Off to a bit of a boring start but I have high hopes, and I continue to love Glokta’s POV chapters the best
