The answers are trickling in!! I like how some of the many plot threads are being resolved. It gets me looking forward to solving the book's main mystery.

This is still interesting, though I've slowed down in chapter six, since Mysticism is so abstract, and the author is quoting a lot of old literature back to back that's harder to focus on when I'm reading while kinda sleepy at night.

This book is AWESOME. Just got to chapter four. It's about how the premodern people viewed the world as much more saturated in meaning, and how C. S. Lewis (as a scholar and lover of medieval literature) tried to imbue that "atmosphere" into his own fiction.

Almost couldn't put this down last night! I'm so invested in all the side stories too, and Strike and Robin's private struggles. I hope Strike finds out what's been going on with Morris bothering Robin and gives him a verbal smackdown!

I jumped back into this one in the last week! I'm just starting part four. The amount of detail and planning that must have gone into this mystery is next level, wow! Strike and Robin have their work cut out for them in finding relevant evidence and witnesses to a botched investigation cold case. Paul Satchwell and Roy Phipps seem the most suspicious right now.

Started on 12/27/25. I've never read high fantasy before, but one of my favorite actors Jon Matteson has mentioned for years that it's his favorite book, so I wanted to give it a try, and I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it! The level of world building is very impressive.

I started this in the last year (part of a gift of religion books from Ivy in 2019). I bounced around from Genesis to a lot of Paul's writings, and now recently I picked up in the Old Testament where I left off in my general knowledge (I'm pretty solid on most stories through Exodus, so I picked up at Joshua). All of the maps and sidebars with historical information are SO useful and interesting!

I'm on chapter 25; the audiobook is so good! The narrators are doing such a good job bringing these likable characters to life!

Very cute so far! I'm so curious to see what cosmic purpose brought these two together.

I had to force myself to set the book down last night so I could sleep, lol! The story's unfolding at a great pace; so much interesting fantasy lore and twists!!

I always love the excellent level of detail and thought J. K. Rowling puts into her setting, characters, and plot. I'm intrigued by how this cold case will be solved.

I laugh at the Harry Potter references the witch characters jokingly make. 😆

After the stories of Gahmuret and Lady Herzeloyde, Parzival's parents, it's good to finally meet the story's hero. But he's not a knight yet; he's very cringefail since he was homeschooled, so he's a "simple fellow" and "backwards youth." :P

Ohh, so that's what "lethal white" means! My guesses were a person, snow, or cocaine. Still not sure how all the details tie together! Excited to find out.

!! What's goin' on?? How do all the details and clues fit together? I'm excited to see! :D I have no clue so far who could've done what, but I just know it's gonna be cool when it finally comes together! The pacing of this one's very good, too!

I'm reading this gradually since each chapter has its own little lesson (the authors said they're like desserts; you can't have too much at once). Some are cheesy, but still inspiring, and some are deep! I liked the chapter about the golden Buddha. Meanwhile, I'm also reading magazines, and enjoying stories through musicals, so that slows down my book reading progress. :)

I really like the lore-building! I always want to learn more about this cool world that Yarros created.

I'm intrigued by where the story's going!

The pacing is really good, and I'm enjoying the plot so far! All the revolution plot details and places felt harder to keep up with in the previous book, but now that I'm familiar with everything and the established characters, the story's unfolding really nicely.

I'm on page 245/356. I'm enjoying this story a lot; it's relaxing to read about Anne's next chapter of her life in a new place.

I saw this book at Hobby Lobby months ago, and I was acquainted with Savannah Guthrie from TODAY Show snippets. This is an enjoyable read so far! I like her writing style and her relatable thoughts. I like how Guthrie relates to her life and tells stories to make a point. The book has thoughtful chapters on a variety of faith-based topics/questions that you can read in any order, and it's a pleasant read.

I think it's funny how all of Matthew's scenes (excepting the one where he meets Strike) are in complete paraphrase, because Rowling doesn't want to waste our time and bother with particular dialogue of his. XD Rowling does well to just give us the background information of how Robin's affected by her snobbish fiance (and what kind of name is Cunliffe?? Robin, please keep the name Ellacott, haha!).

I'm intrigued that we don't know what the end of Quine's book was about yet, so my bet is that something in the book's end involving Daniel Chard will hint at who the killer is. And how is Joe North involved?? And Michael Fancourt, with his dead wife?? And Jerry Waldegrave seems like a nice guy that everyone likes, but maybe he's TOO nice! :O

It feels good to dive back into reading Rowling's characters and prose! Her observations of human nature are so witty and insightful.

I'm starting part 2 now! :O

Zhao Yunlan is such an endearing disaster, lol! The characters are all fun and unique. The story's world of the supernatural is really creative, too, with a mix of Chinese mythology that's interesting to delve into because of the cultural differences.
