Huzzah! A narrator with an excellent voice and a great cadence!

Against my better judgement, I borrowed the audiobook on Hoopla. My eyes are too tired to read, but lordy... The narration on this one is tough.

Page 21. Lent to me by a friend who read it in a day. It may take me longer, but so far, I am liking this.

This narrator is over the top! LOL!

I do not know where this story is going, but it is going to be a wonderfully bonkers ride!

I am not entirely enthralled. As stated before, some of the language seems to modern for 1900. Perhaps it's the translation? The narrator is giving late '90s chick lit vibes.

Maybe it is the translation, but the first story was odd. Some of the language seemed too modern for 1900.

A wonderful slow burn... Not much really happens as much as events and information unfold.

Although the dinner chatter in chapter 21 was maddening. It felt like filler, a delay tactic. I suppose it was meant to be the pause for the reader to feel that things would be fine.

Frankly, both Rebecca and Maxim seem like insufferable _____!

Despite nothing "happening", I am engaged.

The book cover states, "The classic tale of romantic suspense." What! Rebecca is as much a romance as Wuthering Heights!

I've seen both films, but it was time to read the book.

What on earth is happening? I am irritated that I have to sleep or do anything that stands in the way of me and the ending of this book!

I am hooked!
