"Wisp of a Thing" is turning out every bit as good as "The Hum and The Shiver," and even a little creepy.

In love from page one. The last book I read soured rapidly due to industrial prose. I know DeLint will do no such thing.

Clockwork Angels is not harmed by the commercial grade prose typical of mass market releases today. Neither is it elevated by that same prose.

The story is classic, a sort of steampunk adventure meets Dickensian coming-of-age tale. There's a dash of the inevitable enlightened self-interest motif, but nothing Shruggy, nothing even Anthemy.

This is very rich in my experience of mysteries. Given, I'm not widely read in the genre, but this book has more dimension than I expected.

The first couple of pages left me wondering whether this book was going to get my attention, but by page 20, I'm looking forward to seeing what's next!

If the entire book is as thorough and clearly-written as the first few pages, The CNC Cookbook is a winner!

This is the perfect travelogue for those who never intend to set foot on the A.T. It has some moments of depth, to be sure, but they are few, far between, and entirely irrelevant.

Okay, Bill, now you're skipping everything between Gatlinburg and Virginia? Mary Ellen may have been right about you. That said, your description of the bits of trail you actually walked is helpful, and your writing is easy and comfortable, if not actually funny, so we'll just keep on going here.

I was told this book would be very funny. So far it's nothing more than modestly amusing occasionally. In fact, Mr. Bryson tries so hard to incite a laugh that by the time he calls Thoreau "inestimably priggish and tiresome," I just want to slap him. Well, onward bound in high hopes.

Logan Masterson is finished with Thomas Riley
This book was so badly crippled by inarticulate prose and a lack of editing that I was barely able to finish it. The story was passable for an action novel geared at the Y.A. market. Nick Valentino seems like a very nice guy, so I hate to give such a poor review, but I have to be honest. Hopefully his next book will actually be edited.

The Hum and the Shiver continues to be an enthralling read. Just as one mystery is explained, two more pop up, each as purposeful and engaging as the last.

Still enjoying the hell out of this book! Its steady pace holds with the gentle thrum of a supernatural mystery and the characters continue to grow on me. Alex Bledsoe approaches his subject with all the care and respect of DeLint.

I am really enjoying this book. As a Tennessean, occultist, musician and armchair gypsy, I can really dig the theme. The first page had me doubting whether I would be able to willingly suspend, but then most first pages do. The book comes at you in a slow build, an adult pace rather than an in-your-face Caitlin Keirnan way, thankfully.
