Still enjoying the hell out of this book! Its steady pace holds with the gentle thrum of a supernatural mystery and the characters continue to grow on me. Alex Bledsoe approaches his subject with all the care and respect of DeLint.

The Hum and the Shiver continues to be an enthralling read. Just as one mystery is explained, two more pop up, each as purposeful and engaging as the last.

I am really enjoying this book. As a Tennessean, occultist, musician and armchair gypsy, I can really dig the theme. The first page had me doubting whether I would be able to willingly suspend, but then most first pages do. The book comes at you in a slow build, an adult pace rather than an in-your-face Caitlin Keirnan way, thankfully.
