It’s fascinating! Dante is himself a character in this poem, as is Virgil, Dante’s guide on a journey where he is shown Hell & Purgatory (Heaven comes later). The first part of the trip is the outer gates of Hell, where the “indecisive” are - the first group of damned souls. These were the “moral cowards” who did not fear God while alive. This particular book has great illustrations.

I received the first three chapters from the publisher, and based on those, I can unreservedly say I cannot wait to read the rest. The Clarksons present 8 “heartbeats” or principles to guide parents as they raise their children up to know God.

Just soooo not my style. I didn't find it to be edifying or inspiring at this point. The writing and the "message" seemed scattered and self-indulgent.

Wanted some extra commentary. So far it's very basic, but a few tidbits here & there.

There are 31 Proverbs, one for each day of the month. Over twelve months you will have read through most of them several times.

Tom is reading right along with me and it definitely puts a new (terrifying) spin on our Lenten fasting and mortification. Lol.

I'll give it to page 100 just to be generous. But it better seriously pick up!
