وتردد الشعر في وعيه بوضوح عجيب

والآن أين هي الحقيقة وأين هو الحلم؟ أمك التي ما تزال نبرتها تتردد في أذنك قد ماتت، وأبوك الميت يبعث في الحياة. وأنت المفلس المطارد بماض ملوث بالدعارة والجريمة تتطلع بمعجزة إلى الكرامة والحرية والسلام

- لعله قد مات

- وهل أضيع عمري في البحث عن شيء قبل التأكد من وجوده؟
- ولكنك لن تتاكد من وجوده إلا بالبحث

ذلك أن التهكم يأخذ على عاتقه تحرير الإنسان من سيطرة الآراء السائدة والأفكار المتعارف عليها، كما ينتشل الذات من ضياعها وسط الجموع وطغيان الإلف والعادة وألوان "اليقين الموضوعي" التي تقدمها الفلسفات السائدة [..] وهدم ألوان اليقين الموضوعي الفلسفية والاجتماعية والدينية سوف يؤدي في الحال إلى ارتداد الوعي إلى ذاته، إلى يقظة الناس مما هم فيه من سبات فيفهموا ما لم يعرفوه من قبل
