Update for the culture I stayed up until 4am last night reading this because I had to know what was going to happen next and then next until at some point I was like dude you have to go to bed. Elena Greco is increasingly annoying and has the emotional blindness of a middle school boy how could you not know what was going on with Pinuccia... It's like every high school relationship ever but with massive stakes.

I don’t understand how when you reread a book with a progress update it claims that you are on the page of your last progress update when you last read the book… like no I am not on page 301 literal seconds after starting the reread??

I have an iOS reminder set to finish this book by September 24th 2024, when I was supposed to have finished this book to decide which of the two I would translate. It is now September 24th 2025.

I actually can't take this book seriously anymore like she's finally trying to pull off some massive emotional beats after this incredibly heavyhanded and ignorant 150-page exposition and it's like the shots are backfiring straight into her. The shopkeeper tells the little girl that he'll see her tomorrow, "God willing"... his shop then literally explodes with him in it and the author is like "God didn't want it."
