One of the reasons I avoid reading books written in the first person is because very few writers can actually make it sound interesting. Mostly it's just awfully dull. Of course, I knew that reading this book would be a mistake, but I just can't stand not knowing what happens there!

I find this book both fascinating and incomprehensible. So far I really like the character of Amelia. I wonder what fate awaits her after the experiment...

I honestly think that this is one of the best fantasy series out there. I wish more people knew about it. The writing, the characters, the world-building — everything is so meticulously and wonderfully crafted. And a real page-turner too!
