I forgot just how little of the book Vegas actually takes up.

I also remember it being a lot funnier than this, though maybe that was just the writing style. It IS still funny, just less constant than I thought.

I hope I'm just misreading the tone because this seems super haughty.

"Technology" which is "inhuman" is horrible, disregarding the fact that the *wheel* is technology, and it is also inhuman. That human society *necessitates* specialization.

But most importantly, that modern society seems to only be in service of "no particular purpose other than the wasteful fulfillment of its own momentum". How short sighted.

Wow that was SOOOOOO unexpected. Never saw that coming from literally the start of the story. Glad the entire reveal was all of 2 pages long, TOTALLY made the entire story "building" to it worth it.
