But the raw writing really is kinda weird. It doesn’t ruin at least my reading experiencie, but it seems like this book didn’t have an editor. Hahahahahhaha

Cês também passam por esse dilema livrístico de num guentar mais o livro mas já ter lido além do ponto em que é moralmente aceito abandoná-lo?

Chato quando isso acontece.

My main concern with this book at this point of reading is that although he is clearly meant do be read by people in the medical field (and, more specifically, by doctors and med students), the author explains the stories in a very casual tone. She even gets to the point of telling about a person who died of sepsis without ever mentioning the word “sepsis”. It’s weird and a bit long winded trough the book.

The only sad perspective of this book is the realization that we have the same medicine, today, in 2018, as we had in 1840s. Let’s change it. :-)

I thought this book was about history of surgery, not so focused on Lister’s history. But this is not a problem, as this man trajectory is brilliant and permeated with love for his profession and other people. I’m really enjoying the opportunity to get to know it, specially being in med school right now.

I’m overall enjoying the book.

But why all of a sudden a chapter about Spain and running bulls jumps in front of my eyes?

Great story (and maybe history should be the word used here). Very bad writer.
