I’m listening to Don Graham read this in his best raspy Miles impersonation. As it’s written directly in the voice of Miles Davis it makes perfect sense to hear it as a dramatic re-enactment of what I imagine was Miles telling stories to Quincy Troupe. And there are so many good stories and wise reflections by the older Miles looking back through his growth as an artist.
