FINE! I admit it! This is really fun!

I've made it to Speak, Memory. Having this with fiction is interesting, because his writing is quite similar.

We are not even halfway through this and so much is HAPPENING!!!

Normally historical fiction just makes me want to read a biography or history book. This is keeping my attention though, and I'm enjoying the main character a lot.

In the best possible way, if I was listening to this book it would put me to sleep.

oh NO! She doesn't know who will get to stay a MEMBER of the COUNTRY CLUB?!? Oh the humanity! Will someone stop the suffering!!!

There is something really surreal about Burden giving her step father the alias "Stan" when it's really easy to look up her mother's Wikipedia page and see that she was married to Steven Ross the CEO or Time Warner for a time. Or that she calls her husband James, but a quick search shows you exactly who she was married to.

Finished a big crochet project so my time is spent reading out loud again.

The amount of money in this sentence is crazy.

There is so much going on in this book and I know with certainty that mushrooms would help me understand it.

Finished Sebastian Knight. An engaging narrative that felt so much like I was reading a diary rather than a work of fiction. Excited to start Bend Sinister.

I have had to check TWICE to make sure this is fiction because the narrator of Sebastian Knight is so real. The writing is so fluid, and really just seems like someone writing about their life.

Honestly, this is what I thought Dungeon Crawler Carl was going to be like.

My mother phoned in late August and said she would be marrying the deacon in a little ceremony and would like for me to come home for it. I said I would provided I could bring a friend. My mother said, "Is it that Indian?"
"No," I said. "It's a Jew named Abrams."
"You're obviously doing this just to spite me." My mother said Coldly.

Friend gave me a copy of Wild Dark Shore, so naturally, I checked out Migrations from the Library...

The front flap explains that this is the story of gunshots, of either murder or self-defense, but I'm over 100 pages in and so far everything has been setting the scene. I'm really enjoying the picture of Savannah this is giving me, and I like how much time is dedicated to making Savannah the city into basically a character itself.
