I think I'm supposed to like the narrator? I think? But he is so annoying???

Friend gave me a copy of Wild Dark Shore, so naturally, I checked out Migrations from the Library...

The front flap explains that this is the story of gunshots, of either murder or self-defense, but I'm over 100 pages in and so far everything has been setting the scene. I'm really enjoying the picture of Savannah this is giving me, and I like how much time is dedicated to making Savannah the city into basically a character itself.

Whenever I read this out loud for a while I accidentally call my son Callum "Kaladin"

As much as I love dense books, right now my life is not as conducive to this kind of reading as I am used to.

Not even fifty pages in and already this book is annoying me with the chapters that all end with some variation of "If only we had known..." or "How wrong I was..." Come up with something better please.

I saw a review that said this is just watered down Gilded, and at this point I have to agree. It's not that it's bad, it's just kind of comfy so far. Nothing feels very high stakes.

Someone has a "half naked mermaid tattoo" what half is naked? The bottom half? The top half? One boob out?!?

Using the phrase "slept like a baby" but with the caveat of an impressive sleeper instead of one that's up all night is so funny to me, especially as I lay here at 4am with my three week old.
